Welcome to Eco-Club. Here you will find what we've done, what we're doing right now and what we plan to do. Our General Administrator, Isaac Jones (yr5), takes our minutes at all meeting so you can browse through our club discussions. There is a place for anybody and everyone at Radnor to contribute to our discussions: just login to your VLE and click on the Discuss tab. We have a place here for your contributions. Eco-Club wants to hear from YOU!
Rethinking Our Ideas
This BBC News article is a shining example of how positive thinking can make real the 'impossible' dream.
'CANTON GROWS WILD'
Recently Eco Club members took a stroll down to a patch of grass in Canton which has been transformed by a group of volunteers.
The group are called 'Canton Grows Wild' and they meet every Saturday morning around 10am.
Eco Club had a great time learning about how to grow our own foods and we also helped to plant some too!
Check out the pictures below and if you want to get involved on a Saturday morning, ask the Eco Club and they will point you in the right direction!
Key Stage 2 Assembly
Mr Walsh and members of the Eco Club explained all about community gardening projects, such as Canton Grows Wild and its importance within our community.
The children showed pictures from our meeting at the patch in Canton and explained that if anyone wants to get involved they turn up on a Saturday morning from 10am!
There was a buzz in the air after the assembly and the Eco Club have hopefully inspired the children to get involved....!
What we are doing...
Fairtrade Fortnight was a huge success! Thank you to all of the teachers and pupils for participating!
Eco club have met this week to discuss the next priorities for March and April.
Eco Club Challenge
Eco Club want the Radnor pupils to think of an 'Eco Code' for us to follow.
The Eco-Code is a mission statement for your school and should be reflective of both your Eco-Action Plan and your curriculum. It should demonstrate, in a clear and imaginative way, your school's commitment to improving its environmental performance.
