Radnor Primary School

After School Club

Radnor Rascals is an independent After School Club, with charitable status. We collect children aged between 4 and 11 years from Radnor Primary School and escort them to Conway Road Methodist Church Hall, in Canton. The success of our Club is due to a need for after school provision at an affordable price but with no compromise on quality childcare. We are very popular and always have a waiting list! Rascals is open Monday to Thursday during term time only.

We welcome all children regardless of gender, race, ethnicity and ability. We respect and embrace different racial origins, religions, cultures and languages in a multi-ethnic society so that each child is valued as an individual without racial or gender stereotyping.

Radnor Rascals will not discriminate against children on the grounds of disability, sexual orientation, class or family status.

We will help all children to celebrate and express their individual identity by providing a wide range of appropriate resources and activities and we will strive to ensure that children feel good about themselves, encouraging self-esteem, positive images and thoughts by celebrating the differences which make us all unique individuals.

The Manager and Deputy have had many years of experience as Teaching Assistants in Radnor Primary, working in all year groups from Reception through to Year 6.

Our Playworkers all have lots of experience in childcare, either as grandparents or Teaching Assistants!

We are regulated and registered with Care Inspectorate in Wales and inspected on a regular basis.

The emphasis is always on fun and nurturing the child’s development through play and learning experiences at their own pace and level of ability. We have a large play room and a smaller side room and offer a wide range of activities from small world toys, role play, arts and crafts and a reading corner to table tennis, air hockey, snooker and basketball to name just a few!

We support Children In Need every year and hold a week-long bake sale and raffle. Children are encouraged to take part in helping on the cake stall and selling raffle tickets.

Spaces are offered to siblings first then strictly on a first come first served basis.

Once the registration form is completed and returned, names are then added to the waiting list.
