Welcome to Mrs Galea and Mrs Balmforth's Reception Class
Our Autumn term's topic is
'Stand By Me'
We're learning lots about ourselves.
Try and remember to bring a healthy snack in every day. This can be fruit or vegetables. Please only send one item of fruit or vegetables and label it so that we don't have to! It saves us precious teaching time in the mornings. Thank you! :-)
Dinner money is due on a Thursday. Please ensure that you bring the money in by 10am as unless your child is ill, then they will not be able to have cooked dinners the following week.
Once your child is settled into school we shall be sending reading books home with your child. Some will have simple stories and others will just have words. Being able to retell a story from pictures is really important so please encourage your child to 'read' the story if you have a book with no words.
Please ensure that you comment in the reading diary about the book. It just helps us know how they're getting on! Don't forget to carry on sharing stories with your child, it's still very important to help their reading development. Reading additional books such as comics, fact books or books from the library can be really helpful in supporting your child's reading skills as well.
