Radnor Primary School

Message From Mrs Williams (Headteacher

On behalf of governors, staff and children I would like to welcome you to the Radnor Primary School website. I am very proud to be part of a warm, happy and caring school where the children are at the heart of everything we do. We hope that the website provides you with an insight into school life – learning, teaching, curriculum, wellbeing, our school values and that you find your visit useful, informative and inspiring.

Our school is located in the heart of Canton, two miles from the centre of Cardiff.                           We are housed in a beautiful Victorian stone building, built in 1888. We are proud of our history and affection within the local community, and celebrate the many generations who have attended the school.

“Radnor Primary School is a caring and inclusive community where pupils and families feel respected and valued.” (Estyn June 2023)

Our mission statement “Together we can do our best” showcases the strong relationships we have between home and school and underpins our commitment to fully involving you in all aspects of your child’s education.

The children at Radnor are happy, respectful and conscientious and act as positive ambassadors for their generation and the school. The children play an active part in the development of their school via the various action groups in Y Senedd Radnor. They are confident to use their pupil voice and work hard to make positive changes to school life.

The staff are committed to doing their very best for our pupils and work hard to deliver an interesting and stimulating curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs of all children. They are not afraid to try new approaches and often use the local community and resources whenever possible to provide first-hand experiences to bring learning to life and enhance pupils’ learning experiences. Staff give their time freely and we offer a wide range of clubs including sports, music, dance, art, film, school newspaper and digital skills. Many children attend these clubs and further develop many skills and interests.

I hope that our website gives you a feel for our wonderful school. We continue to work hard to ensure every child flourishes in every way during their time at Radnor Primary School.                  If you have any further enquiries please feel free to contact us.
